Darren qualified as a chartered accountant with a big 4 accountancy practice in 2004 before moving into Corporate Finance at a large practice where he stayed as a senior manager before joining Whale Rock. Darren has experience of public and private transactions and is experienced in due diligence, working capital appraisal, project/transaction management and preparing a business for either sale or for listing on a stock exchange. Working in a financial control and corporate finance capacity, Darren’s key areas of sector expertise are the investment management sector - working with small private alternate asset managers through to large listed global entities, and, the natural resource sector where Darren has worked with companies raising initial capital for exploration to large main market companies. Darren has also worked with a number of mobile phone technology companies conducting public and private transactions. Darren’s focus is on assisting management and freeing up managements time to ensure the transaction is successful. Darren does this by providing knowledge, support, assistance in preparing the appropriate relevant documentation and by acting as a key client contact for financial due diligence teams and other advisors. Post transaction, Darren can continue involvement with the client as either interim Chief Financial Officer or Financial Controller.
