He also handled and litigated predominantly "dry" shipping litigation cases, including charter party disputes, bills of lading disputes, cargo claims, demurrage claims and general average disputes in the High Court, Admiralty Court and international arbitration arenas.
Neil also litigated several large unsafe port claims especially in the Mississippi and Orinoco and jetty/quay damage claims in Greece, Guinea Bissau and Venezuela, and some of the leading English cases on arrest of ships and dangerous cargoes.
From 2002-2007, Neil worked as a part-time in-house legal adviser of Leman Commodities S.A. (now Metinvest, one of the world's largest steel traders) and Fayette International Holdings Ltd and he maintains active links with law firms in Hong Kong and Ukraine. He is a Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution-accredited mediator and has mediated a wide range of disputes between companies and between individuals since 2003.
