Kuwait’s oil exports resume after sandstorm
Kuwait has resumed oil exports after shipments were temporarily halted due to a sandstorm.
The country was forced to stop shipments for a day on April 13th due to the adverse weather conditions.
Delays to oil shipments due to bad weather are not uncommon in the OPEC nation at this time of year, although they are usually relatively short and rarely have a significant effect on export or production volumes.
Kuwait produced a total of 2.42 million barrels of crude oil per day during March, according to a survey by news agency Reuters.
Meanwhile, Kuwait has just renewed a deal to supply diesel and jet to Bangladesh.
Under the two-year agreement, which expires in December 2012, Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) will import 1.2 million tonnes of oil products each year from Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC). This will consist of one million tonnes of diesel, with the rest being jet fuel.
