Who are Whale Rock Legal?
Whale Rock Legal Limited is a legal practice authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority ("SRA").
The company was established in 2008 and has grown rapidly since its inception. Our client base includes entrepreneurial start-ups, private companies, listed entities, subsidiaries of large multinationals and high net worth individuals.
Our focus is on being part of the team. When acting for any of our clients, we take an in-house perspective and build relationships with staff and management alike that allow us to advise with the clients interests at the forefront of our mind.

Outsourced in-house legal services
We aim to bridge the gap between the fixed salary cost of a dedicated in-house lawyer and the expense of external law firms by providing our clients with the continuity of an on tap commercially minded lawyer who will provide the full range of a standard in-house legal service, or assist with a particular project. The appointment can be for a fixed number of days per month or as needed.
Commercial/Corporate
We assist clients with the incorporation of companies, shareholder agreements, joint ventures, commercial contracts, due diligence and mergers & acquisitions.
Commodities, shipping and trade finance
We assist clients in the sale and purchase of commodities and related banking and finance documentation.
ISDAs and derivatives
We provide outsourced ISDA negotiators to add capacity where required and to reduce any backlog. We also producetailor-made Confirmations, Schedules to the 1992 and 2002 ISDA® Master Agreement and CSAs, together with negotiation policy manuals for use internally.
Human Resources / Employment
Our clients rely on us to draft their employment contracts and HR policies and to deal with all their day-to-day employment related issues.
Litigation
Our directors are experienced domestic and international litigators and have regularly represented clients in court proceedings and arbitrations world-wide and at employment tribunals in the UK.
Commercial Property
We can manage your commercial property matters, including the acquisition or disposal of leases.
Project Management
Occasionally, our clients have an extraordinarily large matter which requires the services of a large external law firm with the manpower and resources to deal with it. In these situations, we are able to assist our clients through careful selection and supervision of the most appropriate external advisers. Acting as the interface between our clients and their external advisers ensures one focal point of contact, freeing up valuable management time with the knowledge that we are vigilant in ensuring that costs do not run out of control.
